Hawks Captain Drew Pawlanta Commits to play baseball at Hope College

Forest Hills Eastern Baseball is pleased to announce that Senior Captain Drew Pawlanta has officially committed to play baseball at the NCAA Division III level for Hope College. Drew was recruited as a catcher. Hope College, coached by Stu Fritz who is currently the vice-president for the American Baseball Coaches Association, has a long historic baseball winning tradition. The Dutchmen compete in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference (MIAA). Hope College has won 21 MIAA Conference titles and also has had 4 NCAA Tournament berths.

Pawlanta, the workhorse behind the plate is a four year varsity baseball letter winner for the Hawks. Drew batted an outstanding .333 average while catching every game in 2015. Drew, the Hawks Captain, is also regarded as one of the top catch and throw catchers in the area.

Drew is the son of Brett and Melissa Pawlanta of Grand Rapids.
